Fear Of Failure (Wednesday Wake Up Call)

No matter how hard w try
we are never alone

No matter the distance
a shadow's always cast

Buried deep within
the fear resurrects again

Only to find out once more,
It fares no chance
when talent's light is preserved

Over at the New World Creative Union, Natasha presents this week's Wednesday Wake Up Call with the theme of "Fear of Failure."  Head on over to feel the creativity stir and get inspired.

Fortification of
Every sentiment
Aligned in
Ragged fashion

Omniscient voiceover scrawls the mind—
From distances travelled—from sky to cloudy locale

Fretting won’t get you squat; fretting won’t get you
Anywhere, it can and often does, proliferate the overwhelming
Instances that allow stagnancy
Life.  We might regret the inactivity, but if the mind is
Unusually ripe with fear, our ability to succeed is half buried and
Repertoire is likely overwhelmed, unless we can brim confidence,
Each and everyday, it’ll be déjà vu, counter-intuitive at every beat

Fear, the dusty fleck
Flirtatiously offering
Failure, your domain

A Reawakening of Hiatus Fields

Took the original, colorless template design for The Coloring of Structure, and used a knife to stretch the piece into the realm of the virtually unseen.  All the lines are there, just reorganized and blurred to the point where it's difficult to make anything other than a splattering of random lines and marks.

Here, I chose to randomly use a variety of colors to fill in the above canvas.  In so doing, many of the marks and lines gain a new life, and are reborn.

Finally, for this last piece, I used the piece immediately above this entry.  Here, I wanted to see what dynamics could be impressed upon the piece by simply changing one major facet.  That change, of course, was the substitution of a black background for the white one used previously.  I think the effects are dramatic, and really like how the results of this experiment, I feel, adds another example to the  wonderfully transformative effective of color upon a piece, and in result,  makes the ordinary or similar, different.

Gifts (For Creative Tuesdays)

Over at Creative Tuesdays, this weeks theme is a parlay off the celebration one.  It is, of course, Gift.  Head on over and check out all the gifts prepared for you by the ultra-talented artists that contribute to Creative Tuesdays.  And while you're there, read the guidelines and join in.

A bit of a background for this piece.  I initially was going with the gifts under the Christmas tree idea, but then, I got to thinking, literally while I was putting the bulbs on the tree, that Gifts can be so many different things, and from there I came up with God and Country, partially due to a Smashing Pumpkins song that just happened to play while doing this, in which Billy Corgan, the lead singer, repeated God and Country a few times in the song.  From there Family was easy, as was love.  I have to admit, the last area remained empty for a while, which is completely ironic, as my workspace is filled with over 300 books, yet it took me a few days to come up with Knowledge anyhow.

The Tools for Creative Endeavor

Seeing I've been pretty short on time the past few days, I thought I'd do something quick and easy, yet high on meaning.  I thought I'd put together something of a Graffiti inspired piece.  In so doing, I thought it would be kind of neat to write out the various tools the artist has at their disposal.  These tools help the artist conduct their visions and in so doing, enable fully, an individuals creativity.  Then I thought, why not use each tool to accomplish this.  For example:  Crayon was done in Crayon etc..

I'm hoping to have a little more time to devote to my blogging.  The creativity hasn't bounced away, it's there, needling me everyday, which I can't be more thankful for.  So I've got a nice set of ideas to expand upon, and that's for both the Art and the Poetry.  Anyhow, thanks to everyone who stop by regularly and for those of you who are making their first visit, I do appreciate you all.  Happy Wednesday
