The Lighthouse (For Creative Tuesdays)
Over at Creative Tuesdays, this week's theme is Lighthouses. When I used to work the Maine market I would sometimes drive up and down the coast from just north of Portland down to just below Old Orchard Beach. I recall a few really nice lighthouses, in particular the one near Cape Elizabeth, which is just south of South Portland. There's just something very intriguing and freeing about lighthouses. Please stop by to CT and check out the various inspirations this theme has produced from the excellent artists that contribute there.

fun piece!! love the proliferation of rocks - such fun shapes!
ReplyDeleteI was in Porland Maine, years ago, and visited the Porland Lighhouse. In fact, I painted it, and that painting is hanging in my daughters home. Today, I have another one for our CT. Love lighthouses, and your image with the rocks and water...really cool.
ReplyDeleteLovely scene Fred, it's nice that you got some water in there too!
ReplyDeleteit's true lighthouses are use to shine light on the water, so I suppose your interpretion is just right. a unique take on the theme.
ReplyDeletehave a great day.
The water on this is beautifully rendered and the rocks are too-- the lighthouse is a nice and delicate accent with the white and yellow to bring out the water's blue. Nice job --!!
ReplyDeleteFred, thank you for taking the time to do this. Like all yours it must have taken ages. I enjoyed reading about your treks and the water here looks nice and choppy!
ReplyDeleteLove your rendition of the water Fred. Great scene as well with the rocks.
ReplyDeleteI always feel lighthouses are smarter than I. There is a quiet wisdom about them, unless your standing beside the ones with the new high pitched sequence screechers, those will burst your ear drums when they let loose.
