For these pieces I took the piece I posted a couple days ago with the variety of rings, actually I used the template for that piece, not the one that was posted, but anyhow, I took that piece and wanted to see where the knife would take me.

I started off with the idea of utter chaos moving at breakneck speed.  Well, as it turned out, I split that tagline down into two pieces, the first, I hope, gives off the impression of life moving by at relentless speed and the second piece illustrating the idea of a chaos that is moving in all directions, but also impossible to pinpoint it's point of origin.

Been out of sorts this week.  It happens from time to time, hopefully it will pass soon, always does and in fact, feels a bit like it does when that's exactly what will happen.  Feeling like you don't or more like can't do anything, then a day of a little mobility until all of a sudden back to normal.  Anyhow, not to pour my "issues" on you all, but this is just my explaining why so many days have elapsed since my last painting.

This piece was basically finished last week, with just a few touch-ups today.  I used one of the templates I had and played with it a little.  All I could muster.  Thanks again to everyone that stops by, I do appreciate it.

I was over at D'verse, a poetry community, and one of this weeks writing prompts featured a few pieces from digital artist Walter Smith.  While I didn't partake in the poetry prompt this week, I did like Walter's work and was inspired particularly by a couple of his pieces, the result is the piece here.  If you'd like to find out more about Walter Smith, please check D'verse out for links and more information, and while you're there, check out some of the poetry.

I started this piece out by simply doing a neapolitan like design, with raspberry, green, black and yellow, in tiers of course.  Then I started messing around with knives, blending tier to tier, shade to shade.  Eventually I came to this idea, where it's like the sections of the earth's crust, which do blend in with each other, as holes and loosening up of the sections do occur.  Finally I decided to start changing the color scheme around.  Until I finally got to this, as you see it now, where I'm envision some form of crustaceous underbelly of an alien world, where the sky is a violet haze, chaos in the middle ground- kind of took the middle area idea from Norse myth, just to note, and the bottom level, is the most confusing of them all as it's almost pure darkness, and of course, all things are possible, good or evil under the veil of shadow, where imagination and reality can really affect whatever it encounters.  So anyhow, that's the process and backstory to this piece.
