These are the first two using the template I posted yesterday.  As you can tell they're quite similar, but distinctively different from the template.  To be honest, the first piece was simply one of those saves I make during the process, but I like how you can see where the lines and colors begin from and change simply by a quick glance between the two.

A Reawakening of Hiatus Fields

Took the original, colorless template design for The Coloring of Structure, and used a knife to stretch the piece into the realm of the virtually unseen.  All the lines are there, just reorganized and blurred to the point where it's difficult to make anything other than a splattering of random lines and marks.

Here, I chose to randomly use a variety of colors to fill in the above canvas.  In so doing, many of the marks and lines gain a new life, and are reborn.

Finally, for this last piece, I used the piece immediately above this entry.  Here, I wanted to see what dynamics could be impressed upon the piece by simply changing one major facet.  That change, of course, was the substitution of a black background for the white one used previously.  I think the effects are dramatic, and really like how the results of this experiment, I feel, adds another example to the  wonderfully transformative effective of color upon a piece, and in result,  makes the ordinary or similar, different.

The Damaging Tilt of Teenage Seclusion

I used to love Pinball.  As a kid I would go over to the mall every weekend, but not for the same reason as all the other kids.  Nope, I wouldn't meander aimlessly throughout, hopping from table to table in the food court.  No, I went right into the arcade and played pinball all the time.  Would spend the entire day there.  Unfortunately, as much as I enjoyed playing, I never was a Pinball Wizard, which, in a way, I suppose is a good thing.

Nevertheless, I thought I would see about coming up with an abstractly layered piece to pay tribute to those long since past days.  Funny thing, after doing this piece I happened to stop by that old arcade, still there after this many years-guess I wasn't the only kid to waste away their weekends in this way.  But I sat their and played a few games of pinball, and I have to say, although I never was great at the game, this adult cannot hold a candle to that child.  I just wasn't into it and believe me, the memories made me want to be, so badly too.  But change happens, oh well.  I really hope when I'm seventy I don't post that I used to enjoy reading, telling stories and trying to display my thoughts/ideas visually.

So I was doodling about in Art Rage and noticed the lines somewhat resembled a face, pretty simpson-esque cartooning, but yeah so i thought I'd finish the lines out a bit and then use that first face, which just so happens wasn't saved, but it's just the bottom one hear without any hair or eye coloring, and the teeth weren't put in either.  So from their I just played around with facial hair and hair itself as well as color.  Didn't spend too much time on it, but thought I'd share it, as I found it interesting how one form can take on many different forms when minor alterations are made.  Thanks.
