Etchings of a Frozen Recreation
So generous
offering itself
entirely, to
young and
old alike,
providing
sanctuary
in those sliding
motions-
foot glides on leather
laced tight top the
bridgework bone-
leather connects to
blade-where in
concert, movements
lather in streaks and
glances, etching
frozen layers thin
and in this peaceful
repetition, the mind-
expands-wrapping thought
in topical individualities
yet, when legs tire or
temperature sinks well
below breathable depths,
the blades are removed
and the voices dim
until
all that remains
are the scars
recreation layers- remixing
the landscape-and
frozen leaves the art

Thats really cool, so it that actually ice?
ReplyDeleteThanks Matt. No, I built the piece up with thicker paint and then used a knife to flatten out the outsides, leaving the larger barrier around. And as for the ice, it's the same paint, but I changed the colors in that section a few times to create the color I wanted and then used a different knife which can leave the marks you see there. Really glad you like it. Thanks
DeleteThanks for the explanation, great job!
Deleteanytime. thanks
DeleteWhat a treat to find this here.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Once in a while I'll put a verse or two beneath the pained image. Normally it's just the image though, so I love that you used the word treat. Glad you like the piece. Thanks
